Marketing for Assisted Living Facilities

Hi!  This is for investors who are actively running, building, or conceptualizing an assisted living facility or personal care home.  We just opened a 9 bed facility in west San Antonio and have our first resident in!  Yeah.  This is by far the hardest part to this journey - getting your name out and getting your first resident.  In Texas, it is key as you can't finish your license until you have at least one resident.  The large, national placement agencies will not list or market you until you are fully licensed.

So, I'm hoping to share and hear creative ways you are marketing your facilities to the community to get your name out and get that first resident in.

Here is what we have done so far....

*  brought on a partner who is active in business development in the elder care community

*  mailed to local assisted living facilities, adult day care, APS, home health and other providers

*  held an open house.  plan to do quarterly.

*  contracted with local placement agencies

*  work through our on staff medical director for referrals

*  put a promotion for first months rent in place

Anyone else have any creative suggestions?
