Multifamily Investing on Indian Reservations

Hey everybody, I had a thought about a week ago and I'm looking to see if any of you have had any experience with it or might know anything about it.

Has anyone invested on indian reservations? The laws and regulations are quite different and I don't even know if it would be possible. Just to give you an idea of where I'm talking about, my experience and knowledge of the res comes from my home in South Dakota. Typically, at least in SD anyway, communities on the res are very poor and almost all of the housing is subsidized or affordable housing. The tribes run almost everything as the reservations are actually considered Sovereign Nations and I know it's definitely not normal for a white person to own property on the res. I know it can be done because I know at least a couple of white people that own SFR's on the res but I don't know about multifamily. I've done a ton of research and I can't find a single thing about anybody else that invests on the res but I know there are apartment buildings and somebody has to own them. I suppose it's a niche that somebody is in but I'm just having difficulty finding that information.

What would be the pro/cons to this in your opinion? Any thoughts are appreciated.
