I know several folks looking to move their self-directed IRA's to another custodian that is used to working with real estate syndications, can anyone recommend anyone in the DFW area that might fit the bill? Thanks!

@Sam Rust

I second Quest IRA, however I use Safeguard Advisors and @Brian Eastman and I refer our clients over there for note investing business

Differences between the two:

Quest IRA

If your client is testing the waters of the SDIRA world and the opportunities that await in RE, then I think Quest is great.

Your client will pay a small setup fee (sometimes waived and often reduced), along with transactional fees with each and every movement of cash.

We all no fees eat away returns so it’s best to minimize as best you can.  There’s no long term commitment if the client decides that SDIRA investing isn’t for them.

Safeguard Advisors and Kingdom Trust

Your client will have checkbook control and is setting up an IRA owned LLC (Safegaurd sets this up & Kingdom is the Custodian) .There is a one time fee of $1,400 for settling up the LLC and the account with Kingdom.

However the transactions fees are limited to wire fees (which is standard with both Quest and Kingdom accounts) Quest tacks on an additional transaction fee for each.

The key difference here is that while the setup fees are higher with Safeguard and Kingdom, you have limited the expenses down the road.

I myself am committed to using my SDIRA Funds with syndicators so I chose Safegaurd and Kingdom
