Investing In Columbus, Ohio
Hello everyone, first of all I'd like to wish safety upon everyone in this community and hope you and family are all keeping healthy in these times. I've been on BiggerPockets since 2017 and have learnt a ton of things I would not have otherwise. Now I have a few questions myself as I want to venture out of NYC areas for expanding my portfolio. Also, this is my first post so I'm not sure how it works but I'll give as much detail as possible for people to answer my questions (can't be rocket science for sure)! :)
I am looking for mainly long term investments where I can have a property manager manage the property and have supplement income. My questions are detailed below:
1) Has anyone out of Columbus, Ohio (mainly out of state) invested in the market? If so, how did you start, what problems did you face after investing, and any gotchas I should look out for?
2) I'm assuming you have a property management in place. If yes, which one do you use and why? What were your other options and why did you choose the one you did?
3) Im looking to invest mostly in Downtown Columbus, mainly 1-2 bedrooms apartments. Should I be more open-minded to other property types? Do SFH/MFH yield better cap rate in Columbus?
I know I've kept it very generic but I'm just looking for anyone to answer either one or all of the above questions and give me any advice starting to look out of state. Any comment, post, and advice is appreciated. If anything needs clarification, please shoot a comment and I will edit my post to include the clarification. Thank you for your time in advance and stay safe everyone! :)
