HVAC Pricing Question
Hello,
So for my most recent project i have gutted the house down to the frames a 1600 sq foot colonial two floors called in a few HVAC companies to give me a price and i have prices ranging from $13,000 to $20,000 for a 4 ton 60,000 btu system with ductwork installation. The prices seem really high to me i had a similar size building done for $8500 about 4 years ago so i am confused on why the price is almost double now. Anyone have any recent experience on pricing and any recommended installers in North Jersey?

Very expensive! I pay around $8500 for 4 story, new construction house, 2200 sq ft, including a nest thermostat. Ride around town and stop by job sites and ask for the hvac guy. Ask other trades for a good hvac guy. Ask them to ask a buddy if they don't know anyone. I find my best subs by asking my best subs if they know any good subs. The guys that do good work appreciate working with other guys that do good work and will usually recommend them.
