Newbie looking for real estate agent (and advice) for Boston area

Travis Marks
Posted

Hi everyone. I have been browsing this community for a little while but I am looking to pick up my first property soon. I realize now is not the time to be picking up any property but I want to be prepared when that time comes. My wife and I have been saving a decent amount of money and looking to pick up a multi family in the northern Boston area (Medford, Arlington, Somerville, Malden) but we are not opposed to looking further north as well (Salem, Beverly, Scituate, etc). We would ideally be looking for something owner occupied to get the 3.5% FHA loan but this isn't a set requirement. I'm pretty handy and looking to put some sweat equity in to this project but I'm not sure if I want it to be a full on BRRRR thing. I've met a couple realtors so far but none that really know the area or seem to have their heart in it. Looking for any suggestions and advice that people may have. Thanks in advance!
