Is this Direct mail?
My father in law passed away recently and my mother in law keeps getting direct mail offers to buy the house. Specifically stating “sorry for your loss” Is this acceptable??? I love real estate and creative sourcing, but if you are doing this right after a loved one passes away I feel like that it very low. It’s almost shameful and appalling. I will definitely not be finding my deals like this.

Is it great taste? Probably not. But.. it's real estate. People are always looking for deals and hustling listings. It's the nature of the beast. Death is a part of the circle of life; and it happens to everyone. There are actually people that are in financial straits that may not know what to do or how to go about selling their homes; and welcome the contact. It's good you try to protect your mother in law. Tell her not to allow anyone to come over, and definitely do not sign ANYTHING even a listing, without you or someone else from the family being there and reviewing it, if she's unable to do business on her own.
