Out of state tax sales

I have a friend who lives in North Carolina and I live in Georgia, he mentioned that he was looking to get into tax sales out there. He told me that you could get the deed within 30 days after auction, I believe it takes about a year in GA. Does anyone have any experience in tax sales in NC? Is what he is saying true? Anyone have testimonies?
