My beautiful and healthy son Miles Thomas Guthrie was born on June 14 at 8:36PM.

My wife labored naturally all day. She then tried pushing for 3.5 hours but he wouldn't come out. He was lodged in there. We ended up having a C-Section. Turns out he was turned sideways and probably would never have made it out on his own.

He weighed 7lbs 15oz
21.5" long

He has been sleeping very well, and breastfeeding great. I don't want to jinx it, but I think we've gotten a very cooperative and non-fussy baby. I just melt every time I look at him. Like I have read so many other daddies say before, you just don't know how it feels until it happens to you. It is the best thing that has every happened to me.

On another note, in the middle of my wife laboring, I found out I am getting laid off near the end of August. Not the thing a father who is coaching his wife through natural child birth needs to hear. But we'll be alright. Life and God provides and I know we'll make it through this period.

Congrats Chris! First child? Nothing like it. Good luck on the job hunt. I've posted this little story before somewhere. On Dec 2, 1974 our 3rd child was born. Our oldest was 4! On dec 11, the owner of the janitorial franchise I managed came to visit me. I was ranked 3rd out of 70+ franchises of environment Control. He fired me! He had a buyer that wanted to manage it himself. 2 weeks before Christmas , with 3 small children, I was unemployed.

BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME. It allowed me to really concentrate on R.E. and forced me to succeed. The rest is history, as they say.

The rest of the story. Less than a year later, the person that fired me had been fired by the parent company as a VP, his buyer walked away without closing the deal, and by ex-boss had run the company into the ground. He got his RE license and came to ask me for a job! I thanked him for firing me, I was very successful and hired him..

Use this to your benefit and again a real cutie! Glad all are doing well. Rich
