How long did it take to quit your job?

I have no plans of quitting my dayjob anytime soon. Just a newbie investor daydreaming about the day I can and looking for motivation. Can you guys share how long it took to quit your full time job or replace your income through REI? How many rentals or flips did it take? How many years? How many failures?
