"Loser pays" legislation
So I was reading this editorial piece in WSJ about how Texas is considering "loser pays" legislation, which will basically require a losing party in a lawsuit to pay the opponent's legal fees. It is modeled on British system.
It didn't give any more details, so not sure if it will only be limited to corporations or be extended to individuals, in particular landlords. If it's extended to individuals, it could be a good think for landlords where a stupid tenant will have to think twice before suing the landlord.
What do you guys think of this?
