I paid 300.00 for some local advertizing several months ago (quarterly mag, story and 6 followup ads) I contacted the guy a month ago and he said they ran into some trouble but were still going to be able to run my story and ad.

I got a letter today from his BK attorney with a stop contact order and to send claims of money/services owed to the law firm.

Am I up a creek on this one? I have had a contractor do this to me several years ago and lost 28k due to not having filed a "notice of right to claim lien"

It sucks when people don't make good on what is owed.
