When do we learn??

I know there has been a lot of talk about the government programs/spending on this forum lately. However, here are the numbers that scare me far worse than those.

Right before we hit the recession, the average household was saving -1%! That is right, an average American was spending more than he was making, and the banks kept letting people get away with it. However, even with the recession, we still haven't learned! Where is personal responsibility? How long are people going to blame others, banks, governments, wall street traders, real estate investors, etc.?

What could we do differently?
