Off-Topic - Chicago Alternatives to a Garage

I'm bidding on a place without a garage. It has a concrete pad. This will be buy and hold long term, so I don't necessarily care if there is no garage.  However, I will live there for a couple of years and I don't want my car damaged by the elements. 

Are there any alternatives I should research instead of a glorified 15K-20K garage? 

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated,
