Corporate Job verse independent investing?

I assume there are some individuals in this forum that have faced the predicament that I am staring in the eyes...corporate job verse independent investor. If anyone has made the successful transition from one to the other, please share your story and the pros and cons of both.

I wouldn't go as far as saying corporate, but I did have a good job and I made a big choice that landed me here. And it was rough for the first year or so (I guess cause of my age) but now things are looking better for me and I can't say that I would go back!

I worked as a hostler driver for BNSF and I was making a little over
$750.00 a week take home!
