How does/did your original career (what you did for work) prior to real estate investing, help with your current investing scheme

I apologize for probably not wording this extremely well, but for for example if you were a teacher, contractor, police officer, attorney, IT specialist, engineer, etc etc etc...

How have you been able to translate or transition knowledge from your previous field into your investing career? I ask for this two reasons: 1. To see if I may be able to assist some people in regurgitating previous knowledge from their past/part/full time job into who it may benefit them in real estate. And 2. To see if anybody else has been able to link connections between two careers thus preventing the unneeded task of 'learning theoretically the same thing twice?'

For me I find my career and real estate career to be very different. But one thing I have been able to do is organize systems in real estate to my career, like using a set algorithm as a base and making changes as needed, and looking at different sections of real estate first as a whole and then splitting them into parts. Besides that, this has been a big transition. Any other takers???

And happy thanksgiving:)
