Everything works but nothing doesn't

My mentor recently has been preaching, "everything works, but nothing doesn't." Sure the market HAS shifted, and sitting and watching things develop feels safe. However, if you keep telling yourself you'll wait for XYZ before you invest, you'll still be sitting on the sidelines in years to come not making any progress. Any action is better than inaction. Get out there and try to make deals happen and learn from your experiences/mistakes.

I've been in the business since the late 1980's. I have seen countless investors over-extending themselves in questionable markets, like in 2002 and 2008. I have seen lots of carnage. So, I respectfully disagree that "Any action is better than inaction." My 2 cents.
