Hey everyone,

I stumbled across this website after researching another REI investor (Andrew Holmes). Someone I know from high school recommended to start there. I'm in my 20's and I am interested in getting into the real estate business, however I don't know where to start. Ideally I would like to make a passive income, as I already have a good job that pays decent, but I also don't want to dive deep into the pool and be completely overwhelmed. I personally don't know anyone in the business too well, other than the realtor my boyfriend and I worked with this last year (he recently purchased a condo), so I don't know where to begin. Hoping to receive some insight or advice on how to get started, maybe some podcasts, books, expanding my social network, etc.

Welcome @Angela Lojko !

Definitely checkout the Straight Up Chicago Investor podcast for information specifically dedicated to real estate investing in Chicagoland. For more broad knowledge on real estate investing you should listen to the BP podcasts & books and use other resources too. I listened to the BP podcast & others along with reading several books before I bought my first house hack. And that was as someone who worked in commercial real estate before I started investing. At this stage, you should be fully immersing yourself in the crazy amount of educational resources at your fingertips.
