Orlando agents WTH? Dubious or not?

Steven Murphy
Posted

I am writing to see if people have gotten an experience such as this. Agent receives offer from us as investors. We were referred to agent by an agent near us. A week goes by, agent in Orlando calls and says "Well the seller now won't sign because their kids don't want them to sell" Agent then proceeds to serve up three properties at rates HIGHER than what we said the budget was. We need a trustworthy agent. We just got the feel we were getting upsold.....Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone point us in the right direction in ORL/MCO? We are investing there long term and need a trustworthy agent. Thanks BP Fam!

Man..that's awful to hear. It doesn't sound very ethical, but I guess what is ethical is determined by the individual agent on some things, unfortunately. What they are telling you may be true in regards to your original offered property, but the upsell seems a little sudden and sketchy when the offer is still on the table with those sellers.

If they aren't meeting your needs as an agent. I would just comb through the contract and see what the out-clause is. I'm sure you can find an investor friendly agent here on BP.
