South Florida Short Term Rental dilemma

Looking to buy In South Florida ( Fort Lauderdale ) for STR / Airbnb purpose .

Not sure which property would be more profitable Single family /multi family / Duplex?

I am currently renting and I am also wondering if I should get something like a Dublex / Trilex to live In one side and maybe STR the rest ? Or keep on renting my apartment and Airbnb the whole STR property?

Do you really want to buy in south Florida,

The expected flood and hazzard insurance rates with adjusted flood maps can make that a worrisome proposition. 

I'm not buying in west central FL any longer and it is 200+miles north

Duplex in safe b to b+ neighborhoods would be best if you can find one should you choose to stay. You'll always want to move up but the mortgage benefits will continue.
