Expectation Setting - big decision

Hi everyone,

I am a long time lurker who's now facing a big decision.

I'be been living off two incomes for the past 7 years, and suddenly both of our jobs are in jeopardy. I now have two options:

1) Sell everything in CT and move to Texas to follow my job, and where it's easier for my wife to also get a job.

2) Jump on real estate 100% with the commitment of making a living off of it.

I have been spending a lot of time educating myself but making this call is really hard. The only positive is that I was able to save some money and can probably manage my first flip without outside funding.

My question is: What's the good, the bad and the ugly of Real Estate in CT right now?

I appreciate any input you guys can give.

Thanks

PL
