Best place to start for a beginner. Article, podcast, etc.
Hi everyone. I’m new to real estate and this deeper pockets! About me; I’m a 28 year old male, I have a stable career with an above average salary, I have a good amount in mutual funds. I’m looking to diversify my investments and make additional income on the side with real estate. I am wanting to educate myself about all the options I could have to fit my goals. I am pretty conservative and do not like to take a lot of risk, especially because I feel like I have a good plan right now with my salary and index funds. At my current pace I can be financial independent by age 40. I’m looking for mostly a side hustle and mostly passive income at the moment, but open to expanding to a larger commitment in the future if things go well in real estate. Please point me in the right direction!!! Thanks!

@Anthony Rossetti. It sounds like you have a pretty good job. And to succeed at that I’m guessing you need to focus. Gary Keller, in The One Thing, reminded us of the Chinese Proverb: He who chases 2 rabbits catches neither. I haven’t seen many professionals with a full time career do really well with active side hustles. A few pull it off - most don’t.
More often, I see people in your shoes find a great syndicator or fund manager and invest passively with them. You can get help finding the right syndicator through The Real Estate Crowdfunding Review - they have investors who give honest feedback and reviews on syndicators and funds. You could also check @Brian Burke’s excellent BP book: The Hands-Off Investor. Good luck!
