Military Newbie Ready to get Started

My name is Daniel Esposito and I'm from central Ohio, I'm currently active duty military and stationed in central Ohio. My job for the past 4 years has been an ER nurse with the majority of it as a civilian in Columbus, Ohio. I currently still work as a nurse but now as a member of the Air Force.

I have been interested in real estate for a few years after reading the famous "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", since then I have read many real estate investing books and listened to hundreds of podcasts and videos. I currently am interested in getting started in the multi-family home market but I will be flexible to different types of investing. My goals in real estate are to create financial freedom and the ability to retire early from my W-2 job. I believe that real estate will allow me the freedom to spend more time with my family and the ability to invest in other people more often. I have a passion for sports and have coached in the past but with my nursing job it ended up having too many scheduling conflicts. To have the opportunity to get back to coaching and giving back to the community on a regular basis would be incredible. I would also love to help get others involved in real estate as I see it as a way for anyone no matter their background to achieve financial freedom and be able to do what they truly love.

I came across BiggerPockets beginning with the podcasts and then checking out this site. I was hooked from the first few podcasts because many of the guests had stories and beliefs similar to mine. They didn't think it was possible and then they did it, all it took was them getting started. So I have been doing my learning and I am hoping to take the dreaded first step and buy my first rental property by the end of this year.

Hope to hear from people and build friendships through this platform and the world of real estate!

-Daniel
