Who invests in STR in Traverse City?

Hello Bigger Pockets community!

I have been listening to the podcasts and reading several books from BP. I have been stuck on which strategy to go with, but I am leaning towards going to BRRRR a house into a SHort term rental. Has anyone done this strategy vs doing BRRRR w/ Long term rentals? I am wondering if there would be a hiccup with the refinancing due to the inconsistent rent income.

I am trying to learn as much as I can about the Traverse City/Lake Leelanau/Charlevoix area. Does anyone here do any investing up in those areas? I am wondering if you have had success with STR as I am sure many of the winter months are not as busy.

I am working with a realtor up there and have struggled to lock down a property as the market is nuts for the price range I am looking for. Does anyone know any wholesalers or any other helpful insight on how to get deals up in that area? If you are investing in that area, I would love to connect!
