Networking in Louisiana

Hi all,

I am moving down to Louisiana from Canada (Baton Rouge specifically) and would love to connect with some Louisiana investors in the area. Would love to hear your thoughts on the market there! A little about my current goals, I am looking at doing a house hack in Baton Rouge and looking at everything from duplexes to fourplexes. My longer-term goals are to get into Multi-Family properties and reach 100 doors!

Thanks for the help and looking forward to connecting with you all.

Hey Garth, welcome to Louisiana! I am an active investor throughout the state, run a REIA about an hour away from BR, and am admittedly not on Bigger Pockets as much as I'd like to be. With that being said, I highly recommend networking at the local events - RING for sure. Check out the app MeetUp as you can find the other ones in the area too. With Baton Rouge being home to LSU - many investors look into student housing. My involvement in BR has been limited as I only offer on larger deals there - apartments, mobile home parks, land developments, house packages, etc. For off-market deals, at the meetups, on here, and in Facebook groups (search Southeast Louisiana Real Estate Investors) you can find a ton of wholesalers posting their deals. Those are great options. Also, when here, call every We Buy Houses sign and ask to be added to their buyer's list. That will get you on their radar for their offmarket deals. Best of luck! Reach out if I can help further!
