New investor in San Antonio

After a few months of research and educating myself through BP, I'm finally looking to purchase my first investment home. I went to college in Texas, and based on my research my criteria, I'm looking at San Antonio for my first home because of its relatively low price point. Would love to connect with real estate agents, lenders, property managers and other investors familiar with SA, especially the north/northeast areas. Any tips or suggestions for a newbie in the space are appreciated.

@Daniel Machado Hi Daniel! I am currently exploring the idea of investing out of state as well. I also live in California, and I have been exploring some markets of interest here and as a newbie with a tight budget - I have not had luck. I began entertaining the idea of investing in San Antonio since my dad just moved there. I don't have much knowledge to offer you, but it would be awesome to connect with you, as we are on similar journeys!

One book I will start reading is "Long-Distance Real Estate Investing" by David Greene. I just ordered this book today and if you haven't read it yet, I recommend you buy it! I heard great things.
