Hello From Milwaukee
Well, Greenfield actually, a suburb of MKE.
I'm a retired machinist. I have been running my Mom's 4 family that she and my Father bought in June of 1966. When Dad passed in 1998, I moved out of my 30x30 4br Cape Cod to take care of my Mom and rented it out. In '94 I bought my own 4 family, but sold it in '04...2 4's, a single, a full time job and being a Caregiver was just too much. I stumbled on this site after a phone call this past Saturday morning for a vacancy in my Mom's building. The caller asked if I had a minimum income requirement, I asked why and she said most do. I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know of it. I typed in "Common Income Requirements For Tenant" on Google, and this site was the second result.
My jaw hit the ground!!! I can't believe the wealth of information on this site! I'm also stunned at the willingness of the members to share their knowledge. This is EASILY the best site on this subject I've found so far. I've been reading as much as possible, but it's like trying to take a sip out of a fire hose.
I've learned so much already, and have seen how much I've been doing wrong. Thank you to all of the members for sharing their knowledge, and I'll try to keep the stupid questions to a minimum.
