New Aspiring Investor looking for connections/advice

Hey everyone! I've been listening to the podcast and I decided to grab a copy of Rental Property Investing and Managing Rental Properties by Brandon Turner. I've been reading the Rental Property Investment book and I've decided that I want to pursue Real Estate investing as a means of passive income. I love my job and have no intention of giving it up, but I'd love to establish a significant stream of secondary income as a way to further build wealth. I've been clicking through some forum threads, and it really is incredible to see a community of people all striving towards the same goals of success while being so willing to help.  I'm currently 23 and renting an apartment in Mobile, AL, but I'm planning on learning everything I can while saving to be able to purchase my first property in January of 2021. I currently have enough for a  decent down payment but my lease doesn't end until this coming January. I love the idea of doing a house hack with a duplex/ small multifamily property. I'm searching for connections and any advice you might have to a new investor around my market or in general. Thanks!
