Hello all,

I am brand new to real estate investing. Currently living on Guam, and pursuing my first deal. I plan on using VA loan to purchase a condo or single family that I will live in for the first year, then rent out and set up property management when I move away, (I know, so original right?). Would love to hear from any military who has experience with buying in Guam and the whole OHA as an owner thing. On the flip side, if anyone has a property in Guam that they would like me to check on for them, just let me know. I or a buddy can lay eyes on, take pictures ect. Or any other way I can help I would be more than happy. I am currently off island and will be back in July.

Thanks!

-Matt

@Matthew Kresge Welcome! Original is good. Sticking to what works regardless the economic cycle will always play out in the long run. Although, haven't purchased in Guam, there are plenty of military/veteran on this forum who have purchased internationally on TDY and the principles should be somewhat similar.

My brother, @Ashton Levarek and I, both military/veteran, started in small multifamily in North Carolina. Now we run an investment firm with apartment syndication and larger multifamily so if you do have any questions on fundamentals I'll assist as best as possible.

Additionally, if you are looking for some other good FB groups for military/veteran real estate investors, send me a message and I'll share the links(will get taken down if posted here), might get straight to the source of someone who's done this in Guam.
