Hi BP,

I have been lurking around this site on and off for about 2 years (probably longer) and I finally decided to introduce myself to the community (can't be part of it if I don't contribute right?). A little background on myself - I have been around REI since I was born, my father is a Civil Engineer who owned and developed multiple single family homes and my mother would oversee the property management side of the business, she also owns land that she has divided into smaller parcels and sold them to multiple people while providing the financing. I have had the RE bug since I was young but due to life circumstances (school, marriage, kids, etc) I haven't been able to get started. Now that I feel like I have other stuff in order, I have decided to get fully immersed into RE.

I plan to follow the buy & hold strategy of multi-family properties, starting with something small like a quadruplex. Once I acquire more knowledge I would like to do a BRRR and try out other things but that will come with time. My goal is to eventually do REI full time and quit my W2 job but I know that's not something that's gonna happen overnight. So far I have been listening to podcasts, attending webinars, compiling a list of books to read this year and I have joined the local REIA although I have yet to attend a networking event but it's on my to-do list for this month.

I currently live in Fort Mill SC, which is a suburb of Charlotte NC and I am looking to get started in my local market and maybe eventually look at out of state markets. I would love to connect with other new and/or experienced RE investors from the area and offer my help in any way possible.

Anyway, I am happy to be here and I am looking forward to get my RE journey started with such an amazing community. Expect lots of questions from this guy.
