Investing in the Eat Bay Market

Hello investors,

I am a newbie to the real estate world and as a broke college student, the east bay market looks very intimidating. I'd love to get some advice from those in my area. As a construction management major and son of a residential general contractor fixer upper properties are most interesting to me. My current goal is to buy my first property after graduating college (2023) so until then I'm looking to get all the information I can about the market around me.

Personal experiences with finding fixer uppers in the East Bay/Bay Area or general advice on fixer uppers would be greatly appreciated. Additionally I'd love to chat with investors in my area, I live in Walnut Creek but go to school in San Luis Obispo and would be open to meeting with anyone willing!

@Dylan Barrett Hey Welcome to the BP Family! I’m was born and raised in Discovery Bay (Far Far East Bay) but moved down to SLO in 2003 for school as well and have been here ever since. Sounds like you’re on the right track with const. management major and background in construction with your family. I say embrace what you know and if you’re passionate about it the money will follow. I’m a realtor here in SLO and have a flipping business and also am putting together a syndication for multifamily properties. I’d be happy to grab coffee or lunch or to meet at some of our properties to show you what we are up to locally. Feel free to reach out. Have a happy New Year!
