Newbie to BP, Living in Troy, Michigan (Metro Detroit Area)

Hi everyone, I am a software developer that has been working in the tech sector for automotive industry for 4+ years. However, I came to realization that I no longer want to sit in a cubicle for over 20 years and fight rush hour traffic day in and day out and I believe real estate investing is an great opportunity for me to generate passive income, learn handyman skills & network with other serious investors. I became a new homeowner at the beginning of this year. My first deal is my primary residence which is a condo which I plan to use as an investment property which then jumpstart me into SFH/Multifamily real estate. Current books I am reading to gain knowledge on my real estate journey is "Millionaire Real Estate Investor" by Gary Keller and "The Book on Rental Property Investing" by Brandon Turner from BP.
