Green investor - Western North Carolina

Hey folks, I have had a long and more than full time career in manufacturing. My wife and I have some seed money that we'd like to invest into real estate in the area we'd like to retire soon - Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, North Carolina. We currently live in the Charlotte area. I am most interested in Buy/Hold with nearly equal interest in Flips. I bought a lakefront fixer about 5 years ago and have been remodeling it in my spare time and I love seeing properties being brought back from ruin (and the equity value that comes with it!!!). I've just started studying all of this, listening to the podcasts, and just purchased the Ultimate Beginners Guide. I'm really just trying to decide the best method to get started so I can hopefully avoid blowing my seed money on a disaster right out of the gate, LOL. I plan to do this full time. Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forward to learning a ton from all of you. Thanks.

Welcome to the Asheville area! As you are probably aware it is a very strong seller's market in most areas of WNC, especially the closer you are to Asheville. However, there are plenty of good deals out there! Great local podcast here called Asheville Real Estate News that focuses on local guests/topics (Full disclosure, I host that podcast).

Happy to connect anytime, feel free to reach out next time you are in the area.
