College Student Getting Into Real Estate!

So, I am 20 years old, and I am a college student studying aerospace engineering at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. I have a nice amount of money set aside to start real estate investing, but first I want to build my team (real estate agent, contractor, property manager, etc...). I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for the Starkville or Mississippi area in general, and what my team should consist of. Thanks!

Christopher, have you considered house hacking? I think that is the best way for a college student to get started. You buy a nice big house or maybe a small multi 2-4 units. Then you rent out rooms if it is house or if a multi you live in one unit and rent the rest. You can get either one with an FHA. If you do this, you don't need a property manager and why would a capable young man like you who lives in the same town need a property manager anyhow? Unless you buy a place that needs a lot of work all you may need is a real estate agent and a handyman. A good real estate agent generally have list of people who can do this kind of work. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be, just make sure you run the numbers first.
