Living in New Jersey, looking to invest in surrounding areas

Hi all!

My name is Jameliah. I’m living in NJ and have just graduated and want to invest to be able to explore my dreams. NJ has pretty high property tax and I thought it would be smarter to start in an area that isn’t so expensive like Delaware. Anyone have any suggestions on areas for a first time investor in NJ.

@Jameliah Cunningham year will go by fast.  Assuming you submit and offer today that gets accepted you are still looking at 2 months to close.  Play to your strengths you are in a lease for a year, spend next few months discovering the market you want to invest in, learn the market, situate lending, start making offers.  If you pick up property with tenants you'll have to obey their current lease or at earliest ask them to leave giving 2 months notice to vacate. If you find vacant property get it ready for your arrival.

My pleasure.  BTW I like the new profile pic.  When we first met earlier this morning you were a blank profile pic haha
