Introduction - Syracuse, NY

Hello BP!

I’ve been a member of the group for a few months now, and am finally getting around to introducing myself! My wife and I live in Syracuse, NY, and really enjoy it here. I teach middle and high school band at a rural school district, and I own a photo studio that specializes in weddings & high school senior portraits.

After reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, (shocking, I know) I realized that I had a w2 income to pay my bills and a secondary income to generate capital. Unfortunately, I was doing NOTHING to invest that capital and grow wealth! I decided not to waste any more time, so I took the plunge and bought a duplex and single family in the Tipp Hill area this spring. We are in the process of closing on a new home for us, so our current house will become my third rental! I used the landlord forms from The Book on Managing Rental Properties to help me get going, and it has been pretty smooth sailing so far. Currently, I am managing and maintaining my properties on my own, until I begin replacing myself in a few years.

I am looking forward to being part of a community that is committed to taking action and making income! I’d love to network locally, especially during my summer break!!

@Justin Ward it’s in the calendar - can’t wait!

Congratulations! My wife and I have had great luck living here the past 5 years. We’re moving soon, but keeping our current home for a rental in addition to the other two I have. Here’s hoping the experience goes well!
