Hello,

I’m starting out with a rather belated introduction. Belated because I’ve been reading BP over coffee to the point where it’s become a second addiction. BP is simply inspiring and I thank you all for sharing experiences and stories they’ve rekindled my interest in real estate. I became disenchanted after graduating just after the crash ... put a real obstacle in getting work as an architect with any local firms. So I found a job in pool retail but am now coming back to learn as much as I can about real-estate. I will be coming in from the investor angle and possibly as an architect as well some day. I’ve always enjoyed building things, my old room is still filled with evidence to this, lined with lego cities and various structures. Maybe I’ll try my hand as a flipper or even a developer some day but first I’m here to learn.

Location:
Hawaii, place of refuge in Kealekekua and currently renting in Kona. Would like to change that.

Currently:

My most immediate goal is getting out of the rental market and into a house. Then buy others to hold and rent. I am interested in doing this out of state due to the high entry fee of buying in Hawaii but am looking at one potential deal here first. I have some questions about leveraging a property to do that that I will post after this.
