Hello Bigger Pockets Community!

My name is Melissa. I have been interested in Investing in Real Estate for a few years now but for many reasons I have not yet gotten started. I made a decision last year that it was time to get serious and I have been trying to soak up as much info anywhere and any how I can. Since I found Bigger Pockets a few months ago I have probably listened to all of the Bigger Pockets podcasts and gained more knowledge from them than anywhere else. I currently work a full time job an am a mother of two. I live in Hanford CA. Which is a small town outside of the Fresno area. I have yet to meet any local investors but I know there is a lot of competition in my Market. I would love to hear from any local investors in my Market and get some tips for stating out. My goal is to reach financial freedom through investing in multi unit rentals.

@Melissa Kee start going to the local events. They are quite fun really. At the top of the page click on Network> Events>Enter Zip.

Start to change your circle up some and you'll start to see some changes. Also keep an eye out for someone you would like to be a mentor and then find a way to add value to them. Also search FB groups for local REI in your area.
