Newbie from Denver/Colorado Springs
Hey BP community,
Growing up, my dad was in construction and and an occasional house flipper, and my mom was in interior design. The real estate industry has always been a part of my life.
Despite those beginnings, my path lead me to become a software engineer. However, the pull of real estate has been a constant and I'm finally giving in. I'm consuming real estate books and podcasts in my free time, and I'm excited to meet people who are using Real Estate to leverage a better life for themselves.
I'm looking to continue to focus on education and creating new relationships. I'd like to get into my first house flip or house hack sometime in 2019, and I'm currently looking in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Don't hesitate to reach out! I'm always looking to connect.

@Benjamin Ross You're starting at the right place!
If you are leaning towards flipping, I would recommend doing your first one in the town where you live. You'll be amazed how many times you visit your first flip. After you get a system down, you won't have to spend as much time there, but your first one will be a full-time job for a while. I was at my first one a lot and it was 40 minutes away. I made a profit, but I was hating the commute. I've done quite a few since then and the one I'm on now I think I've only been there three times.
As far as house-hacking, the challenge is usually finding a place you would be willing to live in that is also suitable for a house hack. Especially if you have a family, that dynamic can get a little tricky. I just did a deal for some clients that are using their walkout basement as an Airbnb and plan to build another unit in the backyard. That can be a great way to go as well.
Let me know what questions you have and how I can help. If you'd like to swing by my office or grab coffee sometime, we can discuss in person.
Good luck!
