New Member Introduction
Hi everyone! I recently joined bigger pockets on January 13th of this year. I definitely should have done this sooner. I found bigger pockets through doing resarch and trying to educate myself on my own and I think this is the best tool I could have found.
I'm very new to RE Investing. Fortunately I was able to buy my first home when I was 21. I lived in it for a year and now its my first renta propertyl. Though Im not profiting very much ($50 a month) due to lack of experience and my purchase price. The market in that neighborhood has definitely increased so I plan to sell that early next year and use the capital to really get my momentum moving forward. Also continue to educate myself in the mean time. I have about $60,000 in equity.
I have attended a few seminars where guru's have tried to sell me their mentorship and gave me very little education. Mostly I've been listening to the bigger pockets podcast and reading as many books as I can. Im going to try and read as much as I can now on the forums as well.
My work history is long and of a wide variety. I'm 25 now now and Ive had 12 different jobs since I started working. I've worked fast food, to warehouse jobs, then I got my start in construction doing the finish work on homes. I.e: cabinets, baseboard, custom closets, doors. Etc. From there I went into heavy construction and started building bridges with a good company. I was getting paid well but it was hard work. Fast forward to now and I have 3 part time jobs. I'm a heavy equipment operator and I also drive Class A trucks part time. One weekend a month I serve on base in the Air Force Reserves.
My hobbies include hanging out with my two boys, camping, fishing. I love dirtbikes, but I dont have one at the moment. Four wheeling and I recently started taking weight lifting pretty seriously and I really enjoy that a lot now.
I look forward to meeting new people, making connections and educating myself as much as possible. I hope to meet people in the California's central valley area to hopefully help each other out and gain knowledge and experience.
Thank you everyone for reading my introduction, any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated!
