High School Senior Considering Earning RE License

Hello, I'm Bradley and I'm 17. I'm a senior in HS but I'm currently enrolled in community college via their early admit program. I turn 18 in 5 months so I'm considering studying for my NY state RE license in May once 2nd semester is over. I'm concerned, however, that I may not be able to utilize my license since I'll only be able to work full-time until September (when school starts). Also, I'm contemplating leaving my hometown, as I've been accepted into Fordham University, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and the University of South Carolina, and I'm also waiting to hear back from several others. What are your recommendations for me?
