Newbie from Northern VA

Hello BP crowd! I just want to take a moment to introduce myself. I recently retired from the Army and moved to the Northern Virginia area. My wife and I currently own 2 rental properties, 1 in GA and the other in FL. Most of the properties I've purchased and sold have been the result of a military ordered move (PCS). I just didn't want to give my housing allowance to a landlord, so I usually purchased wherever I was sent.

I've been reading the forums, reading books, and researching my new area for the past few weeks. I would love to get in touch with local like-minded individuals. The market out here seems to have a very high barrier to entry as house prices are much higher than I am used to. Also, I am looking for recommendations for CPA and RE Agents.

Looking forward to hearing from the community!

Regards,

Robert Carbo

@Robert Carbo Welcome to BP. Yes the barrier to entry is higher in that area.  But there are areas that are more affordable within 1-1.5 hour drive.  @Russell Brazil is an active agent here on the forums. Follow him, as he has great insight on this market.
