Newbie from Washington, D.C.

Hello Everybody,

I am a new member from the Washington, D.C. area. I am a former real estate agent (worked for three years for a large team in D.C. as a buyers agent and went through 30+ transactions) and a current real estate investor in multifamily properties throughout VA. I'm a long time listener to the BP Podcast and am excited to join the community.

The main reason I wanted to join everyone here is because the DC market is too expensive for me to grow my real estate holdings. I'd love to move into markets like Cincy, Indianapolis, Fayetteville NC, and other cheaper markets, but I don't know much about areas outside of DC. I was a private lenders on a deal in Virginia and I recently got my money out, so I'm investigating new investment opportunities.

Glad to finally be on the BP forums and look forward to connecting!

Cheers,

Aakash

He doesn't need to physically move to those markets in order to be successful. All of the best real estate investors diversify and handle a lot of out of state investments. You go where the deals are and the numbers make sense. I am located in Fayetteville NC, but also invest in NY. If the numbers make sense and you assemble the right team, you can invest out of state quite easily.
