New investor from Southbend Indiana !!

Hello BP !!

My name is Matthew Miller from Southbend, Indiana. To talk a little about myself, I am a family man. I am a career firefighter and love my job. I also have a couple cleaning contracts as a part time job.

I want to start my journey in investing for a couple of reasons. First, for the power of financial freedom that it can provide for me and my family. Second , to show and encourage my family  that despite how and where we were brought up, we're still able to reach any goal if we have a plan.

My goals that I have will be adjusted but for now this is my start.

$250 minimum of positive cashflow per house.

$2000/month passive income

So some questions I have for the great community  of BP !

What are some of the MUST HAVE books out there for real estate ? Also self improvement books that go good with changing habits and mindset ? The one I hear all the time on BP podcast is the Rich Dad Poor Dad so I have that already.

What are some of your guidelines on taking a deal ?

Whats are some of your routines that help you stay on track ?

Looking foward to starting this journey !

Hey @Matt Miller welcome to BP! I was a 17 year career firefighter in Oregon and just recently took a year leave to pursue real estate full time. I'm living in Indianapolis now as of July. Let me know how I may be able to assist, always enjoy connecting with firefighter family!
