Aspiring Investor in the Indianapolis Area

Hello, BiggerPockets!

My name is Shawn. I am a 28-year old aspiring investor out of Indianapolis, Indiana. A little old to start, but better late than never! Recently, I have enlisted as a Soldier in the Indiana National Guard. As a result, I have run into additional income, as well as an enlistment bonus of $20,000 that will supplement my savings. Now, I will not receive all of this up front, but I will get half. After reading a lot of books on wealth building, listening in on the BiggerPockets podcast, and reading blogs, I've decided that I want to invest my money in real estate.

I plan to start my investing in a house hack strategy which I will finance using an FHA loan. So far, I have just been having trouble finding a good deal. There have been two so far that I have almost got to go through, but the seller has backed out last minute on both occasions. So I plan on continuing my search while I build on my education and save my money. I will also be spending a lot of time on BiggerPockets. This site has helped me so much!
