New member / New to real estate in DeKalb, IL

Hello everyone!

My wife and I are new to real estate. We reside in a town called DeKalb, which is a hour west of Chicago. We are in our 30's and we are looking for this to help us escape the rat race and move to financial independence. Currently my wife works in higher education and I work in transportation logistics.

Our plan is to start off with doing wholesaling and flipping. From there we look to scale up to mobile home transactions, small multifamily / apartments. In the long term we would like to move up to commercial buildings and possibly mobile home park ownership.

Our goals for the first year in business are:

By the end of June is to complete our first wholesale deal

To do at least one wholesale deal each month after the first one

By the end of December to complete our first flip

In six months to make $50k - $55k

In 12 months to make $100k- $110k

Through BP, we are hoping to gain knowledge that will assist us in becoming successful real estate investors. We are also hoping to network with other investors (talk shop, bounce ideas off of, etc.), find partners and deals. Also, we plan to give back to BP by sharing about our experiences from our deals.

Interesting thing about me is that I love playing paintball (I am trying to get her interested as well) and interesting fact about my wife and I we enjoy getting a group together and playing board games.
