Hello from Atlanta!!!
Hello Everybody,
My name is Chris Campbell and I am a camerman in the motion picture industry. I work on movies and tv shows and rent equipment to those same shows (exciting right???). Well, we (my wife and I) are looking to take some of the rental money and our personal money and move it into the real estate market. I want PASSIVE INCOME!!! I want to not have to rely on the movie business for my well being (and I would love to be able to pick and choose which movies I take based on the project and not the money).
We just bought a lot in a great, up-and-coming neighborhood in Decatur called Midway Woods. The lot is 1/2 acre (which is big for Atlanta) - 100 x 220. We are thinking of either building a higher-end duplex or else splitting the lot and building 2 houses (each a 3/2 main level with a ready to finish basement). Each lot would then be 50x220, maybe they have a shared driveway to save space???
Anyway, I would love to chat to some people about their thoughts and get my rental property ball rolling!!!
We paid $155k for the 1/2 acre lot. WE are not 100% sure what to do next.
cheers ad thanks,
Chris

Hi John Christopher Campbell
Sounds like a great plan. Check out modular homes. I found several great plans for small lots. You’ll likely need a 10’ set back on each side, so a 30’ wide plan should fit nicely. Reach out to me when you need grading and concrete. My brother and REI biz partner does the best work in Atlanta rez. I can also send you some plan ideas I have sourced.
