Newbies from San Diego, CA Taking a leap of faith here with opening up to this community at bigger pockets. I originally heard Brandon Turner when he started from Aberdeen, Wa. I am from Bellingham Wa. I figured, Hey if a guy from a small town in Washington can do it, why can’t I... haha. I have been listening to bigger pockets podcast almost religiously at work doing construction remodeling in North county San Diego. I’m a green hat in the construction field at the age of almost 30 now because I realize after doing sales, I have had enough with that hustle. Now I absolutely love putting on the tool belt to work with my hands, build, and eventually renovate our primary and rental properties. My wife and I recently purchased our first turn-key rental property out of state from my hometown of Bellingham Wa (family lives near by and helps tremendously). We also have a rental property in Vista CA (that could use some work), a few miles away from where we live. We follow the Dave Ramsey system for our day to day life budgeting and have fortunately done well. However, I toy with the idea of leveraging our properties to find the next investment that could bring in the income to bring my wife home from work or at least give her the OPTION. She is the household head income earner and I am getting paid to learn on the job. I think the BRRRR strategy is most up our alley for future properties. Ultimately we are looking to network with like minded people who share the same passions of real estate as we do. Thanks all, look forward to connecting!
