New Member Introduction
Hi everyone!
I am a new investor from Santa Clara, CA looking to invest in rental properties out-of-state. I have been doing diligent research into rental property investment for several months now, and I'm looking to take action and purchase my first property before the year is up! I am finishing up some books to help round out my base knowledge, but would love to connect and network with other investors to exchange knowledge and just develop friendships and connections that can help foster discussions about getting the most out of real-estate investing! Right now, I am mostly focused on getting into out-of-state rental property investment, so if anyone would like to discuss or exchange knowledge, feel free to reach out or connect with me!
A few fun-facts about me:
- I am very research-oriented and like to make sure I have the necessary knowledge before jumping into something new. I also like to share my knowledge with others so that they can benefit from what I learn as well.
- Numbers are my best friend. I (strangely) get enjoyment out of creating detailed calculations and spreadsheets to help me truly estimate the benefits of an investment. I love the feeling of having control over my money so that I can make the most out of my personal finance and investments!
- I currently work a full-time job and plan to invest all extra savings into real-estate in the coming years!
Best,
Tyler

Hi @Olivia Jones!
Thank you for your response! I am looking for value-add rental properties (seems necessary for good deals these days), but preferably with mostly cosmetic renovation needed. I'd rather not have to deal with major structural work or anything like that. For my first deal, I'm trying to keep it relatively simple since I'm an out-of-state investor. As for location, I am still open to looking at many rental markets around the US. So far, I have mainly been looking into Nashville, TN and Pittsburgh, PA, mostly because I know people from those areas that can help me understand the areas better. If you have any suggestions for other locations, please let me know! As long as I can find a great team (RE agent, property manager, contractors) in an area, I'm pretty open to anywhere that has a good rental market and good price:rent ratios.
