Hi everybody! I was introduced to Bigger Pockets 2 years ago when I first was thinking about financial freedom and passive income through Real Estate, but shifted my focus on getting our foundation right (get rid of debt, adjust our spending habits....). Well, after going through a bankruptcy, getting rid of $100k in consumer debt, spending 6 months in a homeless shelter in order to live for free while making serious financial shifts with our income in one of the most expensive areas (SF north bay), we finally did it!!! Still trying to raise our income and lower our rent (especially since there are new owners coming in and I KNOW they will raise the rents after our lease is up), but all of our extra income now will be working towards buying that first multi family property! In the meantime, I’m going to soak up the podcasts and the forum posts and start going to REA meet ups and hopefully get to know some people who live in the Santa Rosa area. That you all in advance for helping us on our journey towards financial freedom!-Kat :-)
